About Me

I read somewhere if you're going to have a blog then you should state your story.  This is the story behind my Etsy shop.  It started with the creation of my wine cork trivets.  I like wine therefore I quickly accumulate wine corks.   At first I kept only the ones that had sentimental value, from an anniversary or other special occasion.  Then it was from every bottle.  If I was going to keep all of these I had to put them to use.  Thus the wine cork trivets .  Around the same time I was making mosaic'd stepping stones for the yard which is what inspired the frame work.  The first one I made for myself.  It came out so cute I started to gift them out and never thought to sell them until the discovery of Etsy years later.  As for the rest of my crafts most every one has been made with something I couldn't recycle.  I figure if I can extend the life of something then I should.  I know a second life doesn't guarantee the chances of it never making it to the land-fil but it does decrease the energy used to generate a similar item.   The longer we can keep something alive the better right?

As for who I am, I'm a California girl residing in Central New York.  I love spending time with my family, reading a good book when I can find the time and sipping a good glass of wine at the end of the day.  I prefer boots over heels and in the summer it's flip flops and bare feet.  I truly enjoy the simple things, this is me.

Hello! Hello! So glad you stopped by!

Busy at work!

These letters are the result of some Dremel Trio cutting.   A really easy to use little gadget.

My Barn workshop.  Here is where my creating takes place.

Lots of mess making going on around here.

I'm always looking for new ways to reuse these caps.  I have close to 10 years worth of caps collected.  I expect to start some much larger projects soon.  I welcome any ideas.  Please send them my way.

Completely separate from my everyday creating I'm in search of some good ways to reuse styrofoam egg cartons.  I've searched online and so far I haven't come across much.  If you have any suggestions please post a response or shoot me an email araetsy@gmail.com .

Have a wonderful day!
